The Sundering of the Kingdom.
It has been over a year since we have posted here on our webpage or put out any content on Social Media. The unfortunate troubled release of Battlefield 2042 tested the bonds of our online community, and sadly, it broke up for a long time.
I will not set here and lay the blame solely on Dice and EA’s shoulders (although their game completely lacked any quality whatsoever). Try as we might, the old crew which got together way back during the peak of Battlefield 3, could not could not gain any enjoyment from this horribly gimmicky and buggy game.
I started this clan many years ago and I did not do as much as I should have to keep the team together nor did I dedicate time to producing content for you all to enjoy. For that I apologize.
Our squad was based primarily on vehicle combat, and the teamwork associated with that, Unfortunately the developers thought it was more important to focus on cringe character voice lines, snazzy wing-suits, and other shiny objects. They prioritized that instead of core mechanics like balanced infantry-vehicle combat, map design, class systems, or even eliminating bugs.
The Return of the Kings! (Sorta.)
Thankfully, over the course of a year (i.e. after Dice and EA had enough time to lick their wounds from the absolute ravaging they got from the community), Battlefield is in a MUCH better state than it was in the November of 2021. While the cheesy characters still exists (please, can we just kill them off and have regular soldiers/marines?), the focus isn’t so much on them but rather what it should have been about a long time ago:
- Weapons are more enjoyable to use (and there are more of them).
- Vehicles, are slightly less crappy. Ok, ok, that was uncharitable. They have improved the vehicles quote a bit.
The game is still far from perfect, but vast strides were made, and for that we want to give Dice and EA Kudos for listening to their community!
As such, most of the veteran members of KOB have returned and begun playing together again. (Picasso, Freelancer, Omitl, N00bster, and myself are still here, but we have lost some troops along the way.) Though not quite as enjoyable as the days of yonder when our clan would dominate public servers match after match, Battlefield 2042 does have its moments.
Battlefield 4 is Still King.
Kings of Battle is Back! With all of the new changes and updates to 2042 the band has decided to get back together. But first, we got to break off the rust in BF4. We will always return to this classic title every now and then, but going forward, 2042 will be our main game.
While Battlefield 4 is still my favorite (don’t kill the author, this is just his opinion), every day there are fewer and fewer servers hosting this awesome game. There will come a time when BF4 is no more. With that said, here is out latest Battlefield 4 compilation and stay tuned for our latest 2042 video coming soon!
